Thank you for your interest in PAINT THE TOWN 2012 Cranford's Plein-Air Painting Event/Competition and Art Sale. This event will run from June 5th thru 10th. A summer get-away town for wealthy New Yorkers at the end of 19th Century, Cranford is characterized by Victorian homes, brick sidewalks, period street lights, historic buildings, a rich variety of parks, and a meandering river. You can readily access many ideal painting locations in or within walking distance of the downtown, with additional painting opportunities located within a short drive.
One day will be designated as an “Expanded Region” day. Transportation will be arranged for artists for one day to Manhattan or the Jersey Shore for a day of painting. Artists will have a 7 mile radius to paint in and around Cranford for the following four days.
Cranford is about 30 minutes southwest of NYC, directly accessible by train, bus, and of course car (conveniently located off the Garden State Parkway, not far from the NJ Turnpike). For those arriving to the region by air, Cranford is just a fifteen minute drive from Newark Liberty International Airport.
