I consider myself to be a traditional painter in the sense that things like color, paint, movement weight, brushstrokes, and concept are the tools, and not the subjects of my paintings. I paint different subjects: still life, portraits, figure compositions, nudes, sometimes realistically, and sometimes more abstractly, and the final result; the painting, is what matters.

Being a quilter is both my art and the way I live my life. By combining disparate elements into a magical whole, something resonates deep inside me. Starting from a childhood love of art to a seventh grade sewing class, I pull shapes and color together, adding and subtracting until my composition takes form.
